Tried & Tested: Propercorn

I’ve been trying to find new and healthy snacks that are guilt-free and affordable. As a kid, Popcorn was always a treat and we didn’t have it too often. Now it seems Popcorn is becoming an increasingly popular snack and that is fine by me!

Propercorn recently sent me this lovely box full of a variety of flavours after my packet wasn’t up to scratch. Everyone can indulge in these as they’re gluten-free, GM-free, wheat-free AND suitable for vegans / vegetarians. Plus, they’re such a great travel size and retail for around 70p per packet.

Given how kind they were, I thought I would do a post on my thoughts of each packet. And no, this is not a sponsored post so all opinions are my own.

The Originals

Sweet & Salty: This combines both my opinions of the sweet and salted popcorn below. And if you’re undecided if you want sweet or salted, this is a pretty good compromise! (VV,F)

Perfectly Sweet: Just as the name suggests – perfectly sweet. It’s wasn’t too sweet or lacking any flavour and on the plus side, it was all popped as with some popcorn you can find kernels. (VV, F)

Lightly Sea Salted: For me, this was a little too salted despite its ‘lightly’ salted name. Nevertheless it was still tasty. (VV, F)

Sweet

Sweet Coconut and Vanilla: I’m a fan of Vanilla but HATE Coconut. At the beginning it’s surprisingly tasty and can’t tell there’s Coconut in it. Then soon after the Coconut flavour comes through which I didn’t enjoy. If you love coconut however, you’ll enjoy these. (V,F)

Peanut Butter and Almond: I love PB and Almonds so I was pretty excited to try this. The PB was nice and although you couldn’t really taste the almonds they did give the popcorn a slight sweet kick. (VV, F)

Savoury

Fiery Worcester Sauce & Sun-Dried Tomatoes: As you eat them, it gets more ‘fiery’ and actually tastes really good! It’s a strange taste but enjoyable. You know Walkers Tomato crisps? Kind of reminds me of those. It gave the popcorn a kick and wasn’t too overpowering. (VV,F)

Sour Cream & Black Pepper: Sour Cream is a must when you’re having crisps & dip (or chips if you’re from the US). So this flavour was strange to me. The black pepper gave it a nice kick and the sour cream gave it a nice more-ish flavour. This was probably my favourite out of the whole bunch so if I ever see a large packet of these, I’ll be getting some as I have looked but never found any! (V,F)
