Family Day Out In Inveraray, Scotland

So we decided to make the most of the brilliant weather Scotland has been having by having a family day out. We decided to go to Inveraray and it was bloody beautiful, seriously.

It was a long journey but worth it. I had actually been to Inveraray before with a friend and never realised – so I had several flashbacks!

We wandered around before having Lunch and saw these incredible views.

Not to mention the cutest dog cooling off in the Loch!

For Lunch, we stopped off at Brambles. I decided to go for the ‘Open Seafood Sandwich’ which was divine! Fresh seafood – uhhh, yes please!

The Open Sandwich was one slice of toast (cut in half) with Salmon, Prawns and Mackerel on top with salad and Balsamic Vinegar. A little expensive as it did cost £10. I would have liked more Mackerel if I’m honest!

Brambles is also a hotel so if you’re out that way and in need of a place to rest, it’s worth checking out.

En route home, we decided to stop off at a Garden Centre (*yawn*). It also had a crap ‘aquarium’ so definitely skip that if you ever come across it.

I do like Garden Centres – I don’t know why – I just do! But just not this one. However, next door to that was this really gorgeous Oyster Bar. The interior was beautiful, I actually wanted to live there. And on a sunny day, it was heaven.

The Oysters were fresh too and the views made it even better. I wish I had gotten some of their Fish & Chips though – proper fresh stuff!

Have you ever been? Where would you recommend to visit in Scotland during the summer break?

Ah I love Inveraray, my father-in-law has a yacht near there and it’s just the most stunning scenery. When the weather is good you can’t beat it! Your photos are gorgeous, looks like you had a lovely day out (except the garden centre haha) x

Wow this place looks beautiful, and so peaceful and quiet too! I’ve never tried Oysters but love most seafood, I definitely need to give those a try, haha! Great post as always 🙂

Glad to hear – everyone just thinks we’re miserable because of the rain 😀 but it’s been amazing these past few weeks – glad she enjoyed it and hope she got the sun when she came 🙂
